Title: Fixed Wing First Officer

Department: Aviation

Reports to: Base Lead Pilot / Chief Pilot / Director of Operations / Chief Operating Officer / President

Job Summary

  • It is the responsibility of each Line Pilot to insure that all operations involving company aircraft are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the AirMD Operations Manual, and any state or municipal regulation; thus insuring safe, efficient mission completion. In the event of a conflict, the more conservative regulation will apply, except where the current
  • FAA Operations Specifications for AirMD authorize otherwise.
  • The Pilot-in-Command of the aircraft has authority concerning matters of flight safety and aircraft operation in accordance with federally mandated regulations and the Company Operations Manual. The Pilot-in-Command has Operational Control Authority as well as final authority as to the safe operation of the aircraft.
  • While the Flight Nurse is determining the medical acceptance for any medical flight, the duty pilot will make the decision for flight acceptance. This decision will be based on operational considerations such as safety, weather, site location, and personal capabilities.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Operate the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on compliance with the Aircraft Flight Manual and applicable FARs.
  • Submit all appropriate paperwork in a neat and timely manner.
  • The pilot will accept duty only when he/she is in compliance with Flight and Duty Time Regulations. He will further present him/herself rested and medically fit for flying.
  • Report any major malfunctions, aircraft damage or injured personnel to Operations in the most expeditious manner.
  • Present him/her self in a neat and professional manner while carrying out their duties within the company.
  • Actively promote the company‚Äôs public relations image. He/she will provide the customer with courteous, efficient, and safe service.
  • Refer any questions from media personnel through the base managers to company operations. This excludes normal questions of a PR nature.
  • Wash, wax, and clean aircraft as needed.

Benefits

Holiday Pay

LifeSave provides for six paid Holidays during the year: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. LifeSave Fixed Wing Pilots are eligible for Holiday Pay after thirty days of full-time employment. Fixed Wing Pilots are paid one shift of Holiday pay if scheduled to work during a Holiday. Holiday Pay is equal to one and a half (1.5) times regular pay.

Sick Leave

When work is missed due to illness or other disabling condition, Fixed Wing Pilots will receive up to two and one half shifts (30 hrs) worth of sick pay annually after ninety days full time employment.

Vacation

LifeSave offers one week of paid vacation after one year full time employment (60 hrs), two weeks after two years, three weeks after five years.

Hourly Pay

Fixed Wing Pilot-In- Command will be paid an hourly wage after working fourteen continuous hours of Duty. Fixed Wing Pilot Second-In- Command will be paid an hourly wage after working twelve continuous hours of Duty.
