Martin Sellberg MD, FACEP
Dr. Martin Sellberg is a 4th generation rural Kansan and a graduate of Kansas State University and the University of Kansas School of Medicine. A Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, he has been in full time practice in emergency medicine for 25 years, serving in a leadership role in both urban trauma centers and rural emergency departments. He has an extensive background in pre-hospital care and has served as medical advisor for city and county fire departments, SWAT teams, EMS ground services and air transport.
He is the founder and CEO of LifeSave, a critical care transport company, providing fixed wing, helicopter and ground services to communities in the Midwest. Under Dr. Sellberg’s medical control, LifeSave’s mission is to safely and rapidly transport patients to a higher level of care. With 20+ years of experience in the air medical transport industry and 6,000+ pilot in command flight hours, he understands the transport medicine arena in its entirety.
Dr. Sellberg’s appointments and accomplishments include 26 years as flight surgeon in the Air National Guard, including 8 years as State Air Surgeon; past Chair of the Section of Air Medical Transport, American College of Emergency Physicians; two terms on the Board of Directors of the Air Medical Physician Association; voted both as one of Wichita’s Top Docs and Wichita’s Healthcare Heroes; KS Emergency Medical Technician Association’s Outstanding Medical Director of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year in 2009; University of Kansas School of Medicine Faculty; and currently appointed by the governor to the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services.
